title: How AdCrafto works
description: How buyers book digital screens and media owners sell them on AdCrafto, step by step — and how plays are recorded and impressions estimated.
faq:
  - question: Is a booking on AdCrafto the same as the screen's schedule?
answer: Yes. When a buyer books slots, that booking is what the media owner's screens play at those times. Nobody re-types a schedule.
  - question: What is the difference between a play and an impression?
answer: A play is one showing of a creative on a screen, and it is recorded. An impression is an estimated view by someone near the screen, and it is always labelled as an estimate.
  - question: Can a media owner keep some slots for their own content?
answer: Yes. Media owners choose which slots are for sale. Anything not listed stays free for their own content.

AdCrafto connects two sides of digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising on one booking: **buyers** (advertisers and agencies) and **media owners**.

## Buying

1. **Find screens on a map.** Filter by city, area, PIN code and venue type.
2. **Upload your creative.** The image or video you want on screen.
3. **Set schedule and budget.** The days and hours your ad runs, and how much to spend.
4. **Go live and track it.** The campaign plays on the booked slots, and every play is logged.

## Selling

1. **Connect your screens.** Add each screen with its location and venue type.
2. **List your inventory.** Choose which slots are for sale, when, and at what price.
3. **Fill slots three ways.** Direct, self-serve and programmatic demand.
4. **Track plays and revenue.** See what sold and what played where.

## Measurement

AdCrafto keeps two kinds of numbers apart:

- **Plays are records.** Each [play](/glossary/play) is logged with the creative, the screen and the time — this is [proof-of-play](/glossary/proof-of-play).
- **Impressions are estimates.** An [impression](/glossary/impression) is an estimate of how many people could have seen an ad. It is always shown as an estimate, next to the plays it is based on.
